Professor Haydon is the Annetta and Gustav Grisard Professor and Chair in the Department of Neuroscience at Tufts. The goal of Professor Haydon’s laboratory is to identify the mechanisms by which astrocytes (a sub-type of glial cell) regulate synaptic transmission, neuronal circuits and their critical role in controlling behaviour. Recent studies also focus on the roles of these glial cells in disorders of the nervous system.
